Biomechanical abnormalities (BA’s) are a combination of relatively poor joint position and joint movements that can be regarded as “biomechanically sub-optimal“. The vast body of empirical and anecdotal evidence compels us to understand, assess and correct BA’s for our clients who have pain.

Correcting the main BA for most clients will immediately begin to reduce pain levels and move a client towards a healthier movement patterns and a long-term resolution.

The purpose of this paper then is to document the main common BA’s, further enhance your understanding of how they will negatively affect joint movement or position, and lastly how they might be understood in terms of muscle imbalances that can be corrected.
